big vrs. little

it's the little things in life that make a big difference. but sadly, the big things are the ones that frequently dominate our days and the news coverage.

i have gotten the joy to experience several of the small things that make a big difference in my kids lives the past few days. for that, i am thankful.

my giggle box...his laughter reminds me of santa claus's bowl full of jelly laugh

flag tag - a tag game using football flags

hanging at the field while louie played baseball

first time up at bat...

watching the "big kids" play on the playground

volunteering during field day with all of the sunscreen, mud, and water breaks was just a perfect "roll of the dice". all in all, the day was wonderful...hearing lots of the stories about louie...and then talking to sam's teacher and principal about two separate incidents...that's a totally different kind of day...the kind of day, that makes you so happy when it's over.

i got to enjoy a walk before the rain started yesterday...

i love this view, no matter what the season...

the creek is always so beautiful, even more so, after the clean up

can't wait for summer....
i hope my kids know that each and every day they are my "big" things.

the difficult task is helping my dad understand that concept...
