memory

sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment
until it becomes a memory.
-unknown

i just read this on pinterest and it got me thinking. we've got so many things going on in our lives and we're going so many different directions, but are we taking the time to truly stop and enjoy.... enjoy the moment we're in with the people around us...

this morning i got the joy of taking jack to sesame street live.

this is my 3rd "elmo makes music".

jack was so good. he didn't ask for anything...no snacks, no toys, no $10 elmo balloons.
so, he was very surprised when we got chips and a light up elmo.

he couldn't stop singing, dancing and telling me all about elmo and ernie!

and then it happened. half way through the second half, he leaned in and gave me a huge hug and kiss on the cheek. that was it. i melted right there as the characters were dancing to "the hustle".

our "date" will forever be a memory for me.

at the end of our date i let jack choose where to go for lunch...
and the golden arches won (of course)!

tom, louie and sam have also been very busy lately.

sam has been busy working on his famous missourian project.

we were in the car this weekend when he asked if i could get him some cardboard from work. tom and i looked at each other, both a bit perplexed. then he explained that he needed it for his project. and as soon as the words came out of his mouth, tom shuddered and said "whoa, history day* flashback!" and yet, we're still planning out the board and a costume for william clark.

it's pinewood derby time! i don't know who is more excited...tom, sam, or louie!!!

i've also been enjoying some projects too.
i can't seem to get enough of pinterest!

may you get to spend the rest of your day making a memory.
:)

*for those of you reading this blog and you didn't attend brentwood high school in the late 90's ~ let me explain...history day was the largest class project of your junior year. it was a three month endeavor of research filled with sleepless nights spent at kinkos, visits to various libraries, and hours spent on the computer...to say the least. for those few months, you would eat, sleep, and work on your history day project.
