donuts

i am so tired. and as i write this, i continue to eye my beautiful mantle.

i must remind myself to take a deep breath.
it has been a long weekend and it will only continue into this week.

saturday morning was great. the boys and i decided to go out for doughnuts. i suggested dunkin donuts...mostly for the coffee and the five minute drive. but my guys wanted something different. so we ventured down the highway to krispy kreme.

"ma, hat! ma, donut!" he was one happy kid.

we started with 15 donuts...we left with 4...

i love watching big brother help little brother.

of course, no one is looking at me...but i love this picture!

krispy kreme was a great way to start and having dinner with family on sunday was a wonderfully relaxing way to end my weekend. our weekends are like whirlwinds and will continue to be that way going into the fall. and i can't wait. i love getting up early for football and soccer games. i love the anticipation of the brentwood days parade! i love the way the leaves change, fall, and crinkle under your feet as you walk. i love the first time i need a sweater to walk out the door. i love the smell of homemade apple sauce, pumpkin muffins, and cranberries.

for now, my candles will have to do the trick to get me in the mood for fall.
