going on a bear hunt

i started writing this post yesterday... it doesn't feel completely appropriate for today, but i think i still think i need to share. i think it's one of those stories that would make william smile and laugh.

there are several ways to look at how our adventure started this afternoon...

last saturday, we saw judy moody and the not bummer summer, which sparked many conversations about what dares justify points and extra thrill points. the boys have started a list of adventures to create the most perfect summer! louie (who thinks he looks exactly like stink - judy's brother) has been very intrigued with big foot!

then when my friend said she saw a bear, yes, a BEAR in brentwood...the boys have been very insistent upon finding this bear. every time we walk down the path to the pool, the boys are constantly looking for the bear. sam thinks that finding this bear will give him at least 10 thrill points, as long as he has the camera with him to prove it.

so they dug out their camo and we went on a bear hunt!

they decided to take winnie the pooh with us...they thought it would be great bait.

so yes, we did find a bear down pool road in the bushes...he just had some more stuff and fluff than they had hoped.

however, the most exciting find on our hunt was the following clue along the path...

FUR!!!

here's to the first of many bear hunts! to be continued this summer...
